Total bilateral trade decreases through the first quarter of 2009

Total bilateral trade through the first quarter of 2009 is down 57% in comparison to 2008, Moroccan exports fall 45%, American exports fall 32%. Total Moroccan-American trade was at $452 million the first quarter of 2009, a decrease of 57% compared to the same period the previous year ($708 million). Moroccan exports were down 45% at $127 million compared to $233 million in first quarter 2008, while U.S. exports dropped 32% to $325 million compared to $475 million in first quarter 2008.
